Individual musician and dancer pairs act as two sides to a single identity, attempting to reconcile ambitions with reality. Inspired by the emerging adulthood of the Millennial Generation, the arduous journey of artists, hope, and rude awakenings, Potential Energies is a daring undertaking by artists who are not only creating this work, but also living it. The Nouveau Classical Project will perform the music from their debut album, Potential Energies, composed by Trevor Gureckis and released later this summer by Philip Glass’s label, Orange Mountain Music. 

This colorful and hypnotic work was commissioned in 2014 and premiered by NCP and TrioDance Collective at BAM Fischer. Originally conceived as a ballet for both musicians and dancers, Potential Energies breaks barriers between music and movement. Acting as two sides of a single identity, individual musician and dancer pairs explore the struggle to reconcile bright-eyed ambitions with reality through physical interaction and interference.

This concert staging will include the original collaborators of PE: dancers will choreographed by Barbie Diewald and all performers will wear costumes designed by Atelier de Geste. The first 30 guests to arrive at the concert will receive a complimentary copy of the album!
