Trustfall is a new experimental performance series that features artists and composer-performers experimenting in sound and music. Artists may share work at any stage of development. This series aim to build a nurturing creative community by creating a space of trust and generosity between artists and foster a more intimate connection between art and audiences. Following each performance is a short talk back and casual gathering.
Isogram Projects founder Sugar Vendil, who had opportunities to share interdisciplinary performances in process, recognized the need for sound-based artists of various backgrounds, disciplines, and ages to have the opportunity to share works in progress. This series is inspired in part by Movement Research at Judson, a dance series where artists can share work at any stage on a shared bill.
About the name: when brainstorming this, Sugar met up with her friend, composer-pianist Melinda Faylor, who mentioned the idea of a “trust fall,” hence, the series name!
Trustfall is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
Programming for 2025 has been completed. Details for 2026 will be posted here soon. All artists are paid an artist fee and admission is free/sliding scale/low cost.
